Job Title: Java Application Developer

Location: McLean, VA

Work Model: Hybrid

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Java Application Developer to join a technology team within a leading financial services organization. The developer will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting scalable enterprise applications and backend services using modern Java technologies.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based enterprise applications and services.
  • Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Develop scalable, reliable solutions within a cloud/AWS environment.
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases and write efficient SQL/database queries.
  • Participate in application integration, debugging, performance tuning, and production support.
  • Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in peer code reviews.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, Docker and Kubernetes as part of the development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and other developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Contribute to technical design, documentation, automated testing, and continuous improvement.


Required Skills



  • Strong hands-on experience with Java.
  • Experience with Spring/Spring Boot.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
  • Experience with AWS/cloud technologies.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
  • Strong debugging, problem-solving, and application development skills.


Nice to Have



  • Docker/Kubernetes experience.
  • Kafka or other messaging technologies.
  • Angular/JavaScript/TypeScript for full-stack exposure.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working in large-scale financial services or other enterprise environments.
