Job Title: Workshop Facilitator - Design Thinking & Research Synthesis

Location: Piscataway, NJ (On-site for workshop days; remote for prep)

Project Dates: September 2 & September 3, 2026 (Full days on-site), with additional remote work to prepare with leadership at the end of August or before the workshops begin.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Workshop Facilitator to plan and guide a 2-day, in-person Design Thinking and Synthesis Workshop. This role is ideal for a senior innovation strategist, UX researcher, or design sprint facilitator who excels at synthesizing complex qualitative research and driving cross-functional alignment.

You will partner with the internal project lead to design the workshop structure, leading the team through an empathetic deep dive into recent user research to extract key insights, pain points, and opportunity spaces.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Pre-Workshop Alignment: Collaborate with project leads to finalize the agenda, exercises, and framework templates (e.g., journey maps, empathy maps, insight synthesis tools).
  • On-Site Facilitation: Lead a 2-day interactive workshop at the Piscataway, NJ office on September 2nd and 3rd, ensuring balanced participation, clear energy management, and constructive debate.
  • Research Unpacking (Day 1): Facilitate structured sessions to unpack a major user study, guiding the team to identify core user behaviors, experiences, and underlying drivers.
  • Cross-Research Synthesis (Day 2): Help the team synthesize learnings across multiple research sources to map holistic user journeys, unearth unmet needs, and generate actionable hypotheses.


Qualifications & Experience:



  • Proven track record facilitating Design Thinking, Empathy Mapping, and strategic synthesis workshops for enterprise teams.
  • Background in Design Strategy, User Research, Innovation Consulting, or Service Design.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex, multi-source research inputs into clear, structured framework outputs.
  • Exceptional stage presence, time management, and group dynamics management skills
  • Ability to work on-site in Piscataway, NJ on September 2 & 3, 2026.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $60.00 to $90.00/HOUR. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
