The position will also participate in new student orientations and other events as necessary and develop a thorough working knowledge of campus support services and referral processes. Each academic advisor participates in academic programming and makes recommendations to academic program coordinators regarding academic program plans. In addition, the academic advisor is involved in university service through participating in the Academic Advising Improvement Team or other university or college committees related to academic advising, student success, retention, and graduation. S/he assists unit academic administrators and the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in recruitment, retention, and success initiatives as determined. |
