Position Overview:
The Installation Technician is responsible for completing dealer upfitting and installation work on new motorcoaches in accordance with customer and dealer specifications. This hands-on position installs mechanical and electrical components, verifies completed work for quality and accuracy, and maintains required warranty and repair documentation.
Working closely with the Installation Supervisor and other team members, the Installation Technician helps ensure each coach is completed accurately, safely, and on schedule while meeting ABC Companies' quality standards and customer requirements.

- Completing mechanical and electrical installations accurately and according to customer and dealer specifications.
- Delivering high-quality workmanship and thoroughly inspecting completed installations before coaches move to the next stage of the delivery process.
- Reading and following specifications, prints, and work instructions to ensure each installation meets defined requirements.
- Completing warranty, repair, and installation documentation accurately and on time.
- Managing assigned work efficiently while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Continuously developing your mechanical and electrical skills while contributing to a team focused on quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Installation & Upfitting
- Install mechanical and electrical components and equipment on new motorcoaches according to customer and dealer specifications.
- Perform dealer-requested upfits and installations using approved specifications, prints, and work instructions.
- Read and interpret specifications, prints, and other technical information required to complete assigned installations.
- Use appropriate hand tools and equipment to complete installation work safely and efficiently.
- Complete assigned work within established schedules and quality expectations.
Quality & Inspection
- Inspect completed installations to verify workmanship, functionality, and compliance with provided specifications.
- Identify installation concerns or discrepancies and work with the Installation Supervisor to ensure appropriate resolution.
- Maintain attention to detail throughout the installation process to help prevent defects, rework, and delays.
- Help ensure completed coaches meet ABC Companies' quality standards before progressing through the delivery process.
Documentation & Operational Support
- Enter warranty, repair, and other required information into designated systems and portals.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to completed installation and repair activities.
- Communicate progress, material needs, installation concerns, and other issues to the Installation Supervisor as appropriate.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to support efficient workflow and coach completion.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Safety & Compliance
- Comply with applicable OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, and local requirements.
- Follow all ABC Companies policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
- Properly use and maintain tools and equipment required to perform assigned work.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Qualifications:
- Previous mechanical and/or electrical experience required.
- Previous experience in an automotive, commercial vehicle, manufacturing, fabrication, equipment installation, or similar hands-on environment preferred.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow specifications, prints, and work instructions.
- Ability to perform mechanical and electrical installation work using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Must possess the hand tools necessary to perform assigned responsibilities.
- Must maintain eligibility to satisfy applicable DOT requirements necessary to obtain a Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize work, and complete tasks within expected timeframes.
- Previous motorcoach or commercial vehicle experience preferred.

- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials, tools, and components as required to perform assigned work.
- Ability to work in an active shop environment with exposure to noise, moving vehicles, equipment, and varying temperatures.
