The Job

The UX / Product Designer is responsible for using best-in-class design methodologies to translate user stories/requirements into elegant, intuitive designs, and working with their product and engineering partners to refine and deliver them as product features.

This person must be highly engaged, proactive, extremely detail-oriented, and a collaborator with exceptional digital product/design and execution skills.

You Will

  • Deliver thoughtful, effective, polished design deliverables, including generative & evaluative research, user flows, and lo/med/hi fidelity wireframes, and design metrics.

  • Contribute to the digital design vision, strategy and direction; collaborate with product and development to execute successfully

  • Work closely with insights (CXI, Data, etc.) and member-facing teams to understand constituents' needs and behaviors, and effectively launch digital products, as well as partner with cross-functional teams to inform and influence business strategies through the consumer experience/digital lens

  • Maintain a relentless focus on driving business outcomes through extraordinary digital experiences - monitor and analyze digital product and experience performance, making data-driven decisions to optimize and improve them

  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and user-focused development

  • Participate in the digital experience prioritization process to help the design team focus on the most critical projects

  • Partner internally with stakeholders to resolve issues that arise throughout the implementation of products and services

  • Drive and operate in an agile, nimble manner with a sense of urgency; move with "enough" data/insights, foster a change/adaptive mindset culture of continuous improvement

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, User Experience, or related field

  • 4+ years of experience as a UX or product designer working in a highly regulated, complex industry (e.g., insurance, health-tech, banking, fintech, etc.)

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence partner teams and direction

  • A user-focused mindset, ensuring that digital product development meets the needs and expectations of our users

  • A collaborative spirit, aligned with SCAN's mission (Helping Seniors Live Healthy & Independent Lives) and values

  • Demonstrated experience working on and influencing cross-functional teams

  • Experience in Medicare industry preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work and deliver multiple projects simultaneously on tight deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills

  • Technical expertise - Advanced analytical skills

  • Communication - Good communication and interpersonal skills
