The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking for a Shop Preventative Maintenance Mechanic to join our Seattle Shop division. In this role, you will maintain and repair sheet metal fabricating equipment, trouble shoot breakdowns, and perform minor electrical wiring tasks and general machine work. Other responsibilities include:

Maintenance Management

  • Performs preventative maintenance.

  • Keeps current machinery parts lists, maintenance repair manuals, and vendor files.

  • Trouble shoots breakdowns, performs minor electrical wiring and general machine work.

  • Keeps all machinery and major fabrication equipment in good running order.

  • Repairs and replaces all major machinery parts. Includes in whole, in part, new or used parts.

  • Improves existing machinery to increase productivity, machine longevity, reduce maintenance and down time.

  • Performs machine work such as turning, boring, drilling, grinding, welding, polishing to accomplish general repairs.

Shop Maintenance

  • Maintains a clean, organized maintenance shop. Includes securing tools, equipment and maintenance records.

  • Other duties as assigned.

What You Need To Succeed at McKinstry:

  • Must have five (5) years of experience as a mechanic in the construction industry.

  • AA degree in construction management or equivalent work experience required.

  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and Outlook required.

  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used within the mechanical contracting industry required.

  • Knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines required.

  • Previous purchasing experience is preferred.

The pay range for this position is $22.33 - $35.48 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is considered non-exempt and will be paid hourly. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
