MTSI is seeking a highly skilled
Senior-level Cyber Mission & Technology Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic guidance, technical leadership, and operational expertise in support of Department of War (DoW) cyber, intelligence, information warfare, technology modernization, and mission support activities.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience operating within complex national security environments and advising senior leaders on cyber strategy, emerging technologies, mission capabilities, modernization priorities, and technology-enabled operations.
This role requires a leader who can operate effectively at the intersection of cyber operations, intelligence, software and data capabilities, artificial intelligence, mission systems, and technology modernization. The Cyber Mission & Technology SME will help translate complex operational needs into technical requirements, capability roadmaps, investment priorities, and executable modernization strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide senior-level subject matter expertise supporting DoW cyber, intelligence, information warfare, technology modernization, and related mission priorities
- Advise senior DoW leaders on cyber strategy, mission capabilities, technology development, modernization priorities, and emerging technology opportunities
- Assess and track DoW cyber, intelligence, software, data, AI, and mission technology programs and initiatives
- Support technical and operational evaluations of emerging technologies, architectures, platforms, software solutions, and mission capabilities
- Translate operational and mission needs into technical requirements, capability priorities, acquisition considerations, and modernization recommendations
- Develop and contribute to technical roadmaps, capability development plans, modernization strategies, and implementation approaches
- Identify mission capability gaps, technical risks, dependencies, interoperability challenges, and opportunities for technology advancement
- Support the development and evaluation of cyber and technology concepts, programs, and capabilities across operational and enterprise environments
- Evaluate the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, automation, and data technologies to cyber, intelligence, threat analysis, network defense, targeting, mission planning, and decision support
- Provide expertise on the integration of cyber operations, intelligence, data, software, and emerging technologies in support of operational missions
- Participate in technical working groups, program reviews, capability assessments, strategic planning sessions, and senior-level decision forums
- Develop and deliver briefings, recommendations, assessments, and decision support products for senior government and military leaders
Required Skills:
- 20+ years of Significant senior-level experience supporting cybersecurity, cyberspace operations, intelligence, information warfare, technology modernization, software development, data/analytics, or related national security missions
- Demonstrated experience operating within DoW, military, Intelligence Community, or other national security environments
- Experience providing strategic, operational, or technical guidance to senior military, government, or executive leaders
- Demonstrated understanding of cyber operations, intelligence operations, mission technology, or technology-enabled national security capabilities
- Experience leading, overseeing, or advising complex technology, cyber, intelligence, software, data, or operational programs
- Experience translating complex mission challenges into actionable technical requirements, capability needs, modernization priorities, or technology solutions
- Experience supporting technical evaluations, capability assessments, requirements development, strategic planning, or technology roadmaps
- Demonstrated ability to work across multidisciplinary teams that may include operators, engineers, software developers, data scientists, intelligence professionals, cybersecurity specialists, and government program personnel
- Experience collaborating across military, civilian, interagency, Intelligence Community, industry, or allied partner organizations
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and operational issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to operate independently in complex, high-visibility, mission-focused environments
Desired Skills:
- Extensive experience supporting DoW cyber, intelligence, special operations, information warfare, or joint mission environments.
- Previous leadership of cyber, intelligence, technology, software, analytics, or multidisciplinary mission organizations.
- Experience managing or advising major technology programs, portfolios, Programs of Record, or modernization initiatives.
- Experience with offensive or defensive cyberspace operations, cyber-enabled intelligence, signals intelligence, all-source intelligence, targeting, or related operational disciplines.
- Experience developing mission-driven software, data, analytics, or technology capabilities for operational users.
- Experience applying or evaluating AI/ML, advanced analytics, data fusion, automation, or agentic technologies within cyber, intelligence, defense, or national security environments.
- Familiarity with technology accreditation, security authorization, interoperability, data-sharing, or deployment requirements within classified environments.
- Experience working with senior military leaders, SES-level officials, Combatant Commands, military Services, Intelligence Community organizations, or interagency partners.
- Advanced degree in cybersecurity, information systems, engineering, computer science, intelligence, business, technology management, or a related field.
Educational Requirements:
- BS Degree in a related discipline.
- Masters Degree in a related field Desired.
Clearance Requirements: Current TS/SCI clearance required.
The pay range for this position is $180,000/year to $230,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI offers a full range of medical benefits, 401k, ESOP, paid time off, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
