Overview
The mission of the Office of Alumni Engagement is to inspire lifelong engagement with the Tufts community. Through meaningful connections, shared experiences, and opportunities to give back, we empower alumni to make an impact on each other and the university.
What You'll Do
Provides comprehensive support for the Tufts Alumni Council (TAC) and its committees. Support Senior Connection, an affinity-based alumni group, and the alumni -led Foster Children's Committee, including organizing annual Back-to School Picnic and Holiday Party. Oversee the creation and distribution of the Alumni Volunteer Newsletter and coordinate the planning and execution of Jumbo Alumni Service Month.
- Alumni Association Operations
Serve as primary liaison to all TAC committees, training committee chairs to schedule and run zoom meetings, share minutes, etc. Maintain all TAC records in appropriate box folders. Support following committees: Nominations, Awards and Governance Committees, Finance, Audit, Alumni Resources, Exec. Committee and Strategic Planning Committee. Organize and implement twice annual TAC meetings. - Alumni Association Annual Elections
Organize and implement annual elections of Alumni Trustees and Alumni Council members and executive officers, facilitating the work of the Nominating Committee of the Alumni Association in candidate selection. Collaborate with nominees for election throughout process to provide information and procure bias, photos, and other information for election. - Alumni Association Events
Oversee Alumni Association's two high profile annual alumni recognition events: the Senior Awards, honoring outstanding students, and the Alumni Awards, honoring distinguished alumni. Coordinate closely with the TAC Awards committee in the selection process and event design. Manage all aspects of the events, virtual and/or in person, coordinating with internal partners where necessary. - Volunteer Management
Develops and implements a university-wide volunteer e-newsletter by collecting and curating volunteer stories, writing and editing content, and coordinating distribution to enhance volunteer engagement and recognition. Partners with Program Coordinator to maintain and update volunteer leadership information, volunteer opportunity outreach and materials, volunteer toolkit and chapter/affinity-based chair term documentation on Alumni and Friends and related communication platforms. - Alumni Programming
Organize and implements programming for Senior Connection, and alumni affinity-based group Collaborate with the alumni-led Foster Children's Committee to organize annual summer back-to-school picnic and Holiday Party. Collaborating with Senior Director, organizes and implements annual Jumbo Alumni Service Month. - Participates in other special projects or events as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Basic Requirements:
Knowledge and experience typically acquired by:
- Knowledge and skills typically acquired through a bachelor's degree
- 3-5 years of related experience
- Knowledge and experience collaborating with volunteer committees
- Knowledge and experience in alumni engagement or related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office/similar systems, database systems (Advance, Raiser's Edge, Ascend, etc.), Zoom, Qualtrics.
- Available for evening and weekend work as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of volunteer management in a higher education or nonprofits setting.
- Strong professional, interpersonal, team and leadership skills; tact and flexibility in working with a diverse range of alumni.
Pay Range
Minimum $55,600.00, Midpoint $69,500.00, Maximum $83,400.00
Salary is based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity; generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
