This unique opportunity combines the responsibilities of a Medical Assistant with the specialized ability to performportable X-rays ordered by our physicians. Youll work alongside physicians and the care team to provide safe, efficient, compassionate care while gaining valuable experience in both clinical and diagnostic services.

What Youll Do

As a Medical Assistant Portable X-Ray Specialist, you will:

  • Welcome and provide an exceptional experience for patients in a team-based environment.

  • Room patients, obtain vital signs, collect accurate patient information, and prepare patients for their visits.

  • Perform standard Medical Assistant clinical duties under the direct supervision of a physician or physician assistant.

  • Performportable X-rays ordered by physicians, which may include chest, wrist, foot, and other diagnostic imaging as appropriate.

  • Safely operate portable X-ray equipment and follow all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform phlebotomy and point-of-care testing.

  • Assist physicians with minor procedures.

  • Collect, process, and appropriately handle laboratory specimens.

  • Prepare and maintain patient care areas and medical equipment.

  • Administer and handle medications in accordance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.

  • Provide patients with appropriate instructions and education.

  • Accurately document patient information, clinical data, procedures, and care in the medical record.

  • Process prescription and information requests.

  • Support physicians and the clinical team in maintaining an efficient and safe patient-care environment.

  • Assist with other clinical responsibilities as assigned by the Manager/Supervisor.

Portable X-ray volume may vary and is anticipated to be approximately 05 studies per day, depending on patient needs and physician orders.

New graduates may be considered!Candidates who recently completed an accredited Medical Assisting program and demonstrate strong clinical skills, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to teamwork are encouraged to apply. Prior Medical Assistant experience, particularly in an outpatient or urgent care setting, is preferred.

Requirements

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a medical assisting program or postsecondary medical assisting program accredited to prepare candidates for the CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification examination preferred.

Experience:
Medical Assistant experience preferred but not required for graduates within two years of completing an accredited Medical Assisting program. Urgent Care experience preferred. One year of Medical Assistant experience in a physicians office or hospital outpatient department may be accepted in lieu of graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program.

Certifications:

  • CMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), CCMA (National Healthcareer Association), or RMA (American Medical Technologists) preferred.

  • BLS (American Heart Association) required within 90 days of hire.

License:

  • Florida Certificate for Basic X-Ray Machine Operator required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Basic computer skills.

  • Ability to safely operate portable X-ray equipment.

  • Ability to work early/late hours and occasional weekends as needed.
