Position Overview: The San Antonio Commercial Banking Executive is responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership for the growth and management of the San Antonio Commercial Banking and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Lines of Business. This role oversees a team of Commercial Banking Team Leaders and the San Antonio Commercial Real Estate Manager, ensuring operational efficiency and effectiveness in line with Broadway Bank's objectives. The executive will report to the San Antonio Market President and Chief Commercial Banking Officer, directly managing the growth and success of both Commercial C&I and CRE portfolios. The executive will lead efforts to acquire new, profitable client relationships, maintain existing client portfolios, and optimize bank earnings through the evaluation, negotiation, and monitoring of credit solutions. Additionally, this role will emphasize delivering solutions that satisfy clients' short-term and long-term needs, driving business development tactics through Broadway Bank's CRM and scorecard-based approach to enhance relationship depth, promote teamwork, and achieve sustainable revenue growth. Essential Functions:
- Drive the growth of San Antonio's Commercial Banking and CRE portfolios by fostering long-term relationships with premier businesses and developers and increasing Broadway Bank's brand awareness in high-profile networks and organizations.
- Establish and enforce scorecard goals for each commercial leader to meet annual financial targets and strategic objectives.
- Guide business development activities executed by Commercial Banking Leaders and Relationship Managers, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and bank values.
- Collaborate with the Chief Credit Officer and Chief Commercial Banking Officer on complex or high-value credit decisions, maintaining a solid understanding of advanced credit relationships.
- Partner with Private Bank, Wealth Management, Treasury Solutions, Sales and Service, and MarComm teams to expand client relationships and increase portfolio value.
- Contribute to the ongoing evaluation and enhancement of commercial banking technology and operations for increased efficiency.
- Actively engage in collection efforts for commercial loans to minimize potential losses and ensure asset security through oversight of day-to-day operations and due diligence in credit decisions.
- Spearhead strategic transformation initiatives across the network, aligning messaging and actions with the strategic plan and organizational scorecard.
- Allocate resources toward community organizations and CRA-related activities to reinforce the bank's community-oriented culture and meet CRA objectives.
- Serve on Senior Officer's Loan Committee, ALLL, and other critical committees, influencing key decisions and policies.
- Stay informed on local and regional economic trends, legislative developments, and regulatory changes impacting banking to anticipate and adapt to market conditions effectively.
- This position may require travel within the Bank's geographic area.
Experience & Education:
- 10+ years in commercial lending,
including relationship management, business development, and portfolio management. - Preferred 15+ years in commercial
lending, with 2+ years in a supervisory role; 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred. - Demonstrated ability to lead and
develop high-performing teams and achieve revenue growth. - Bachelor's degree from an accredited
institution is required. - Formal Credit Analysis training is
mandatory. - Preferred: Master's degree or
professional designation in finance or a related field, and/or completion of advanced financial services training.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong business development and relationship management capabilities, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
- Advanced credit analysis and underwriting skills, especially in complex and high-value commercial transactions.
- Broad knowledge of financial services, compliance regulations, and operational procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking, with the capacity to drive growth and manage organizational change.
- Proficiency in managing CRM systems and scorecard-based performance measurement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Robust technical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM platforms.

- Ability to act as a brand ambassador, projecting Broadway Bank as an innovative, financially stable, and modern financial institution.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull weights or otherwise move objects weighing as much as 10 lbs. on a regular basis and/or for extended periods of time during the workday.
- Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required.
