GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: The Vice President/General Manager drives the long-range strategic planning process for operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations, including manufacturing itself, production control, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, potential materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping / receiving activities. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and sales. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Directs efforts of both air and ground search parties (Inspires action, coordinates simultaneous initiatives). Develops and provides strategy, vision and direction to multiple functions. Implements company-wide policies and practices. Provides input to executive management. Comprehensive understanding of the overall company and competitive environment. Works consistently with abstract ideas or situations across functional areas of the business. Through assessment of intangible variables, identifies and evaluates fundamental issues, providing strategy and direction for multiple functional areas. Anticipates factors that could influence strategies and company position in the market. Establishes and develops broader company strategy and translates into mult functional objectives. Erroneous decisions will affect the company's success with Impact of decisions felt over the long-term (more than five years). Interacts with internal and external executive level management, requiring negotiation of extremely critical matters. Influences policymaking and strategy based on communication strategies and persuasion skills. Partners with executive leadership team for the function to provide cohesive direction towards company goals. Leads activities of one or more functional areas, divisions, product groups and services through subordinate directors / managers who have overall responsibility for the successful operation of assigned areas. Oversees team(s) to develop new methods and solve company-wide matters. Accountable for function financial results which impact organization performance. Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position has supervisory responsibilities.
