Salary range:
$93,500 - $121,400. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. "Off-scale salaries" and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. The successful candidate will have a research portfolio rooted in the post-1945 period and a demonstrated ability to work with Korean language historical sources. The hire will contribute to the department's undergraduate and graduate program, and work to support the continued growth of the Center for Critical Korean Studies. For the initial review, candidates should submit a letter of application, CV, a writing sample (of no longer than 30 pages), and three letters of reference. The letter of application should address the candidate's past and projected contributions to research, teaching, and service. Ph.D. in History, relevant Humanities discipline, or an interdisciplinary field with a research and teaching focus on post-1945 Korean history Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered.
