The Associate Director of Research Security is responsible for developing and implementing security protocols to protect sensitive research data and intellectual property. This position also involves conducting risk assessments, training staff on security practices, and ensuring compliance with federal and institutional security regulations. Sets performance goals, contributes to evaluations, provides feedback, and supports compensation decisions.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

Other Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret/SCI Clearance

Required Experience
6+ years of relevant experience, including 3+ years of supervisory knowledge

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Master's degree in related discipline or equivalent, related experience

• appropriate clearances- SCI, experience with DCSA, UARC
• Sr. Manager experience 10+ or more
• 7-10 years in demonstrated research security management experience
• FSO certified and DoD-approved certifications, including Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), Special Program Security Certification (SPSC), CISSP, or equivalent.
• Advanced knowledge of NISPOM (32 CFR Part 117), DCSA Requirements, ICD regulations, and other relevant manuals.
• Experience overseeing both Physical and Personnel Security programs for classified environments, ensuring compliance with the NISPOM, DoDM 5205.07 Vol 1-4, ICDs 704/705, and related governance.
• Expertise in using security management tools (e.g., DISS, NISS, SIMS, e-FCL).
• Exposure to cybersecurity concepts and Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes.
• Ability to navigate complex regulatory and compliance frameworks while identifying areas for innovation and operational enhancement.
• Proficiency in metrics development and data-driven decision making
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with government agencies and sponsors
• Collaborative approach to working with researchers and technical staff
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior executives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset to address both immediate and long-term security challenges.

Salary Job Grade R11
Salary range is dependent on candidate's experiences and skills that ranges from: $125,996.00- $212,933.00
Due to our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be U.S. Citizens.
