Description
The IT Systems Architect is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, security, and reliability of the organization's IT infrastructure. This role ensures the availability and performance of servers, networks, cloud services, endpoint devices, and enterprise applications while providing technical support and implementing best practices for cybersecurity and system management. Essential Job Functions: Systems Administration
- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Windows and/or Linux servers.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity management services.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Azure, or other cloud platforms.
- Monitor system health, performance, and capacity to ensure high availability.
- Perform regular system updates, patch management, and firmware upgrades.
Network Administration
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Implement and maintain network security controls.
Security & Compliance
- Implement cybersecurity best practices including endpoint protection, multifactor authentication, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitor security alerts and respond to incidents.
- Conduct regular backup verification and disaster recovery testing.
- Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Creates and maintains proper documentation and procedures for security compliances, such as GDPR, NIST 800-171, CMMC, etc.
User Support
- Provide Tier II and Tier III technical support for hardware, software, and network issues.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees.
- Document solutions and maintain technical knowledge base articles.
Infrastructure & Operations
- Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Administer backup and recovery solutions.
- Maintain inventory of IT assets and software licenses.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in after-hours maintenance and on-call support as required.
Additional Duties:
- Dedicated to delivering superior customer service through timely and professional communication, and problem resolution.
- Limited travel and flexibility in schedule required.
- Provide support for Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives, companywide.
- Other duties, reporting, special assignments or projects as needed and assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in systems administration.
- Experience administering Windows Server and Active Directory.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
- Knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, and firewalls.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar).
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Must take medical exams required by law, in conjunction with occupation specific activities, the physical work environment, and ongoing industrial hygiene sampling results.
- Depending on assignment, may be required to use stairs, remain upright and/or seated for prolonged timeframes, intermittently reposition the body per various tasks performed, and use various tools and work-related supplies.
- May be required to perform manual lifting activities, not to exceed a 40lb lift performed by one individual.
Education: Degree in Computer Science, Programming, Security or related field, or equivalent work experience.
