Title: Student Intern - Housing and Homeless Services

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour / 30 hours per week

Posted Thru: 8-12-26 / Funded Thru: 8-31-27



Location: Hybrid - Lansing, MI Office



Purpose: The Intern will work directly with the PATH grant ensuring appropriate administration and that all federal requirements and state standards are met.



Duties and Responsibilities:
* Ensuring the annual release and initiation of contracts to PATH grantees.
* Completing and submitting the annual PATH performance report to SAMHSA including collecting and reporting on grantee performance.
* Development of annual budget.
* Deliver quarterly training on SOAR program for new practitioners. Collaborate with team on ensuring SOAR program outcomes are met and practitioners receive ongoing support and technical assistance.
* Conduct annual onsite monitoring of PATH grantees and provide written feedback.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners on street outreach efforts and coordinate services and best practice sharing.
* Always represent the best interests of MDHHS and MPHI.
* All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Education: Within one year of completing a bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program.

Experience: One year of professional work experience.

Important Skills and Characteristics:



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong public presentation skills.
  • Strong skills with Office 365 applications (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.



Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Typical office environment. Some travel for meetings.



RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS: No assigned responsibility.

IMPACT ON PROJECTS, SERVICES AND OPERATIONS: This position has a direct impact on the quality of services provided by MPHI to MDHHS.
