Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineering Technician supports engineering and manufacturing operations by coordinating engineering change activities, updating technical documentation, and assisting with a company-wide product rebranding initiative. This role works closely with engineering, production, and the machine shop to implement documentation updates, coordinate product rework, and maintain accurate engineering records. The ideal candidate has experience with SolidWorks, engineering documentation, and manufacturing processes in a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Support the engineering rebranding initiative by updating product documentation and engineering records.
  • Complete engineering change activities to reflect new branding requirements.
  • Assist with stock sorting activities to identify parts requiring rework.
  • Coordinate product rework activities with production and machine shop personnel.
  • Update mechanical drawings, dimensions, and tolerances using SolidWorks.
  • Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, and configuration records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure engineering changes are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Follow documentation control procedures and engineering standards.
  • Perform additional engineering support duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD software.
  • Experience updating mechanical drawings and engineering documentation.
  • Understanding of documentation control procedures, bills of materials (BOMs), and configuration management.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experience with ERP and PLM systems (such as Visual Manufacturing, Omnify, Agile, or EPDM) preferred.
  • Machining experience and GD&T/tolerancing knowledge preferred.
  • Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Root Cause Analysis experience preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is a plus.
  • Must be authorized to access export-controlled information in accordance with applicable regulations.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
