Laboratory Assistant I - Pediatrics

The Laboratory Assistant I Position available in the
Laboratory of Membrane Biology on the VA GLAHS campus, funded through UCLA
Department of Pediatrics. Work closely with an MD in Pediatric Gastroenterology
and a PhD Senior Research Physiologist to perform experiments involving the
gastric pathogen Helicobacter pylori. Job duties include but aren't limited to preparing
solutions, cleaning glassware, ordering supplies, maintaining bacterial and
cell cultures, working with small animal model systems and human tissue
samples, performing experiments, and collecting/cataloging data.

This is a limited appointment that may convert
to career.

Salary Range $27.04 - 32.31 Hourly

Required:

• Ability to accurately interpret and enter data into the
  computer system. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and
  internet skills. Basic filing and organizing skills.
• Skill in techniques applicable to scientific research
  projects. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and professional
  working relations.
• Must be able to work 10am-7pm shift as needed

Preferred:

• Bachelors' Degree (preferably in Science)
