Fiscal Services supports university operations through financial process management and guidance. The department works with campus units to ensure consistent fiscal practices. Positions involve financial processing, account support, and coordination with campus units.

Job Description

Position Reporting & Basic Function:

This role is part of the College of Engineering and Computing (CEC) Fiscal Service Center and supports the financial operations of up to three academic departments. You'll work closely with Department Chairs, faculty, and staff to help ensure responsible budgeting, effective financial planning, and smooth day-to-day fiscal operations.

Job Description:

  • Support departments in meeting University and financial guidelines in a practical, efficient way
  • Partner with the Service Center team to evaluate and streamline processes
  • Review departmental financial transactions to ensure accuracy and clarity
  • Resolve errors, recommend improvements and communicate issues to appropriate parties
  • Reconcile payroll, department and faculty accounts, grants, and related financial activities
  • Prepare clear and useful financial reports for department leadership and faculty
  • Provide guidance based on University policies and help leaders make informed budget decisions
  • Use financial systems, databases, and spreadsheets to organize and manage information
  • Oversee annual departmental budgets and help plan for upcoming needs
  • Manage departmental purchasing cards, including monitoring spending and helping resolve cardholder issues
  • Serve as a resource for fiscal questions, offering practical advice and recommending best practices
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Shift

Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • High proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Excel, pivot tables), PeopleSoft, PowerBI, databases, and other business software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with numerical data
  • Organized, with the ability to successfully manage and meet multiple deadlines
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $19.25 - $21.63 hourly.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
