About This Role

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Client Services Assistant to join our dedicated Triage Call Center team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. This position is responsible for providing appropriate service for the calls coming into the VHC for patient appointments and consultations. The hospital mission includes providing quality medical services to clients and training for professional veterinary students. The individual must provide services in a professional manner, is the first impression, and establish the initial contact with the seller. Working hours for this position will be Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.

Worksite Description

This position is On-site.

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.


What You'll Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualifications:



  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • One year of relevant experience
    Requirements may be met through a combination of education and experience.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Two or more years fulltime clinical veterinary experience either in general &/or specialty practice.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, diseases, and symptoms.
  • Ability to multitask in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a stressful situation.
  • Ability to prioritize and recognize the most effective & efficient process to accomplish the daily workflow.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptable to different computer systems/advanced computer skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to help other teammates.
  • A self-starter who is constantly looking for productive ways to fill downtime.
  • Ability to answer multiple phone lines.
  • Ability to perform word processing and data entry procedures on a personal computer.
  • Willing and able to master new techniques.
