Working hands-on with both municipal and industrial fire departments, the Ferrara/KME team thrives on diagnosing departments' current apparatus limitations and response needs to custom design the perfect fire apparatus solution that will stand the test of time.

Primary Functions: To support the Controller in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance / Accounting Department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting financial analysis, forecasting, and modeling to assess business performance and investment opportunities
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and projections for senior management or clients
  • Evaluating current and historical financial data to determine company value and investment potential
  • Studying business, industry, and economic trends to inform strategic planning
  • Assisting with budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning processes
  • Performing ad-hoc analyses and providing recommendations for portfolios or individual investments

Qualifications/Training:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • 3-5 years automated accounting experience.
  • Advanced MS Excel experience
  • Able to handle high volume of transactions
  • Month end and year end journal entries
  • Prior experience at a manufacturing company is beneficial
  • Ability to recognize quality expected and be able to reproduce it
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be computer literate and have some working knowledge of a general accounting systems
  • Must have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performance
  • Ability to perform all operations within acceptable quality and time standards.
  • Ability to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Hand-eye coordination.

Experience (PLUS +)

  • Prior Great Plains (ERP) experience preferred, Prior audit experience
  • Cost Accounting exposure / experience
