Position Summary

The Director of Programs & Grants serves as a strategic leader within the Strategic Initiatives & Operations team, responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating Foundation-funded programs in alignment with Dallas College institutional priorities. This role leads cross-functional collaboration with College stakeholders, oversees program outcomes and continuous improvement efforts, and manages post-award grant processes to ensure compliance, impact measurement, and donor alignment. The Director also plays a key role in Foundation campaign strategy by identifying programmatic opportunities, developing investment cases, and ensuring program readiness for philanthropic support.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead Foundation program development in partnership with Dallas College divisions, Schools of Instruction, student success teams, and administrative units.

  • Serve as the primary manager of program outcomes, establishing metrics, tracking performance, and developing reports for Foundation leadership, donors, and College partners.

  • Oversee post-award grant management, ensuring compliance, spending alignment, reporting accuracy, and stakeholder coordination.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives & Operations to identify institutional needs and translate them into programmatic investment opportunities.

  • Partner with development colleagues to support fundraising and campaign strategy through program design, documentation, and impact storytelling.

  • Guide program evaluation processes, including data collection, outcomes analysis, and continuous improvement recommendations.

  • Serve as a liaison to College leaders to ensure transparency, alignment, and appropriate use of Foundation resources.

  • Provide guidance and support to the Assistant Director of Programs & Grants.

  • Support major Foundation initiatives, special projects, and college-wide priority-setting.

  • Maintain the highest ethical standards and adhere to institutional rules, policies, and donor expectations.

  • Required Dallas College Professional Development Hours per Academic Year.

    • All employees are required to complete a minimum of 19 hours.

    • People leaders are required an additional 16 hours of leadership development.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Preferred - Education, Experience, and/or Certifications

Required Qualifications for Role

  • Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of related experience, including program oversight, grant management, or collaborative institutional initiatives.

  • Experience working in cross-functional program development or grant-funded environments.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel.

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed.

Preferred:

  • Master's degree.

  • Experience in higher education or philanthropy.

  • Supervisory experience.
