Mental Health Tech - Intensive Outpatient Program

Full-Time 8a - 4:30p

The Mental Health Technician (MHT) provides direct patient support to individuals receiving
services in the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) by monitoring patient status, reinforcing
therapeutic interventions and assisting with structured program activities.

  • The MHT functionsas a non-licensed, paraprofessional member of the multidisciplinary team, supportingimplementation of individualized treatment plans and maintaining a safe, structured therapeutic environment.

  • This role also supports program operations through non-clinical administrativefunctions, including scheduling, registration, and documentation support, in accordance withestablished protocols.

  • The MHT role aligns with CMS IOP requirements for services furnishedby trained behavioral health staff as part of a multidisciplinary team and is structured to meetapplicable federal, state, and accreditation standards governing behavioral health and IntensiveOutpatient Programs.

  • The MHT may perform administrative andfront office support functions to facilitate efficient program operations, provided these duties arenon-clinical in nature and performed in accordance with hospital policies, payer requirements,and applicable federal and state regulations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.

  • Must obtain mandatory nonviolent crisis prevention training to be completed prior to end of orientation period and maintained annually.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in behavioral health or relatedfield preferred.

  • Experience in behavioral health, psychiatric, or substance use settings.
