Job Title: Human Resource Business Partner
Location: Hornell, NY (on-site)
Employment Type: 7-month contract (filling in for someone who is on leave)
*could possibly extend longer depending on business needs
Industry: Transportation Manufacturing
Compensation: $42-$45/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4:30 PM
*No overtime will be required for this role
About the Opportunity:

As an HR Business Partner, you will be at the heart of our Hornell, NY manufacturing facilities, working closely with the management team to shape and deploy business objectives. This full-time, on-site position requires your presence from Monday through Friday, ensuring you are fully immersed in our workplace culture. You will be supporting four plants within Hornell, NY and an Overhaul site in Kanona, NY.

What You'll Do:
  • Strategic HR Planning: Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement HR strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives. This includes workforce planning, talent management, and succession planning.
  • Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor to employees and management on HR-related issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement. Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Talent Acquisition and Development: Oversee the recruitment process to attract and retain top talent. Develop and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and career growth.
  • Immigration: Support of mobility cases, recruitment process and review/follow up on visa status in conjunction with COE- Mobility.
  • Change Management: Support organizational change initiatives by providing guidance on the human impact of changes, developing communication plans, and ensuring smooth transitions for employees.
  • HR Metrics and Analytics: Utilize HR data and analytics to inform decision-making, track key performance indicators, and provide insights on workforce trends and issues. This helps in identifying areas for improvement and measuring the effectiveness of HR programs.
  • HR Strategy Development: Collaborate with HR teams to develop and implement HR policies, best practices, and initiatives that align with both local and global organizational goals. Ensure consistency in HR practices across the region while addressing specific needs and compliance requirements.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources with a proven track record of resolving complex employee relations issues
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience utilizing US Employment and Labor laws, including New York Labor law
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with Microsoft Office and ATS/HRIS software
What Sets You Apart:
  • Strong interpersonal skillset showcasing the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, employees, and stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience in people management
  • Professional certifications related to HR such as PHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP
  • Experience as an HR Generalist, including employee relations, discipline, performance management, and benefits
  • Exposure to working with unionized workforces
Additional Information:
  • Upon offer of employment, the individual will be subject to a background check and a drug screen
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This role could include travel to Kanona, NY up to once per week, so a valid driver's license and MVR screening will be required for this role. Employee will travel using their own vehicle and will be reimbursed for mileage.
