The Grants Manager will independently lead the planning, coordination, and financial administration of a growing portfolio of contracts and grants across the institution's departments.

The position will perform a variety of duties to support the full life cycle of proposals and awarded sponsored research program projects, ensuring compliance with applicable processes and guidelines.

Work Schedule Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM, hybrid
Other Work/Responsibilities

  • The Grants Manager will lead submissions, monitor expenditures and analyze the burn rate on sponsored projects, communicate financial data and provide expert consultation to the Pl.
  • They will also liaise with the Office of Sponsored Research (OSR) to manage project budgets, comply with agency guidelines and document cost share.
  • Additional duties include, analyzing financial data through university applications to perform day to day program project monitoring, performing PAATs and funding swaps as needed, preparing funding agency progress reports with PI's and relevant parties, perform project close out activities and submit and track closing entries needed through university applications.

Minimum Experience/Education
  • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in research administration, grant management, or complex financial analysis.
Department Required Skills

  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze budgets, calculate burn rates, and forecast expenditures.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex financial data into actionable advice for researchers and academic personnel.
  • High attention to detail and proficiency using enterprise-level financial software and applications

  • Experience with contracts and grants within higher education
