Employment Type: Contract (12 months with potential for direct hire)
Compensation: $30.00/hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

About the Opportunity

We're seeking a hands-on Electromechanical Test Technician to support a Mechanical Test Laboratory focused on evaluating HVAC components and assemblies. In this role, you'll perform mechanical and electrical testing, assist with prototype development, maintain laboratory equipment, and document test results to support engineering and product development efforts.

What You'll Do
  • Build, assemble, and test prototypes for new and improved product designs
  • Perform mechanical and electrical testing on HVAC components and assemblies
  • Set up, program, and operate specialized test equipment
  • Record, analyze, and archive test data and results
  • Prepare accurate and detailed test reports
  • Assist in designing, building, modifying, and troubleshooting custom test fixtures and laboratory equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
  • Conduct laboratory safety inspections and maintain inspection documentation
  • Fabricate and assemble test equipment, fixtures, and test samples
  • Support engineers with testing activities, product evaluations, and laboratory projects

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in electromechanical testing, maintenance, laboratory support, or a related technical field
  • Experience using mechanical and electrical measuring instruments
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
What Sets You Apart
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and data entry
  • Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and equipment
  • Ability to support engineers with testing and technical assignments
  • Experience taking detailed measurements and documenting findings accurately
  • CAD experience preferred
  • LabVIEW experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings, blueprints, and specifications
  • Understanding of electrical and electronic fundamentals
  • Mechanical aptitude with experience assembling and maintaining test equipment
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment
  • Hands-on experience using laboratory testing tools such as torque drivers, calipers, micrometers, and multimeters
  • Commercial HVAC knowledge or experience is a plus
