Oneonta City School District is accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year for: Behavioral Analyst An employee in this class is involved in evaluating student behavior, developing and integrating intervention plans, and training administrative and educational staff, as well as family members, on best practices to support students whose behavioral or emotional challenges interfere with their ability to function effectively within the educational environment. Incumbents will work collaboratively with school teams to conduct effective functional assessments of behavior, behavior instruction, and the implementation of behavior plans to provide support in creating positive outcomes for all students. The work is performed under the general supervision of the Director of Student Support Services or their designee with considerable leeway for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in carrying out the duties of the position. Supervision may be exercised over support staff (i.e. Registered Behavior Technician). Does related work as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION: a) Possession of a Masters Degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology or closely related field and one (1) year of full-time paid or its part-time equivalent work experience working with individuals with special needs which must have included providing functional behavioral assessments, behavioral interventions and/or behavior support plans; OR b) Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology or closely related field and three (3) years of full-time paid or its part-time equivalent work experience working with individuals with special needs; one (1) year of which must have included providing functional behavioral assessments, behavioral interventions and/or behavior support plans. Note: Your degree must have been awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education / U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside of the United States and its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Certification as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA,BCBA-D) is required at time of appointment and must be maintained for the duration of employment.
