Clariant is currently hiring for three Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician openings to support the Catalyst business unit at the West Plant facility in Louisville, KY. We have one position on an 8-hour day shift (Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM) and two positions on a rotating 12-hour day shift (6:00 AM-6:00 PM). The 12-hour schedule rotates between the beginning and end of the workweek on a quarterly basis but remains on the day shift.The hourly pay range for this position is $41.28-$45.20, with the starting rate determined based on qualifications, directly related experience, and overall fit for the role. Candidates with extensive relevant experience may be considered for a starting rate toward the higher end of the range. In addition, this position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus, payable after four months of successful employment.
In this role, you will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance of the West Plant catalyst equipment and related industrial systems. This includes performing electrical diagnostics, troubleshooting motors and other production equipment, disassembling, realigning, and reinstalling components, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.At Clariant, you'll be part of a team that values technical expertise, continuous improvement, and safety. Responsibilities



  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain West Plant catalyst and industrial equipment, including preventive and proactive maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and line stoppages using root-cause analysis; collaborate with cross-functional teams to restore operations.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs, including wiring, PLCs, motors, pumps, heating elements, instruments, and gauges.
  • Remove, replace, rewire, and reassemble equipment components as needed.
  • Ensure maintenance work meets safety, quality, cost, and efficiency standards.
  • Use CMMS/SAP systems to manage work orders and spare parts inventory.
  • Participate in daily performance and team meetings while communicating effectively with managers, engineers, and operators.



Requirements



  • High School Diploma or GED plus trade school or technical college education.
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience; food or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, SAP, or similar maintenance software.
  • Knowledge of industrial maintenance practices, pneumatic systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to safely diagnose and repair equipment using manuals, schematics, and technical resources.
  • Maintain certifications and safe work practices for Confined Space Entry, Lockout/Tagout, Hot Work, and Forklift operations.
