A Brief Overview
The Accounting Intern will gain exposure to various areas of accounting, reporting and various aspects of the company's business through collaboration with various team members and technology tools. This may include various duties to support the team's' goal of timeliness and accuracy including processing and recording of payments requests submitted to Accounts Payable, journal entry preparation, general ledger reconciliation, and preparation of quarterly financial reporting both internally and externally together with various ad hoc projects.

What you will do



  • Data entry of accounts payable transactions.
  • Organize recurring payment files and process recurring payments.
  • Perform purchase order matching.
  • Obtain necessary documentation from business unit personnel to prepare and enter journal entries.
  • Assist with monthly accounting close checklists for various accounting departments.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of certain general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare, compile, and analyze detailed schedules for quarterly financial statement reporting.
  • Prepare and submit wire transfers
  • Prepares reports to support assigned accounts and summarized activity recorded for management review.
  • Gain working understanding and summarize relevant agreements.


Qualifications



  • Accounting major required from an accredited university with an anticipated graduation date no later than May 2024. Required.
  • Major GPA of 3.0 Required.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail, work independently.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Motivation and a strong desire to take on new challenges and learn as much as possible in an environment with complex transactions and willingness to ask questions/request support when needed.
