Job Description The Intermodal Operations team is seeking highly skilled and motivated Transportation Specialists to join a rapidly growing team. This team drives the end-to-end operational execution of all loads (internal and external) shipped across a nationwide network. The team supports regions and shippers across the supply chain and is responsible for ensuring on-time pickup and delivery of freight from vendors, fulfillment centers, rail yards, and shipper hubs. In the case of disruptions, the Operations team addresses issues, keeps stakeholders informed, and ensures timely resolution. The team serves as the first line of defense in identifying network trends, delays, dwell times, and other exceptions that impact the ability to deliver a high-quality transportation service experience. An ideal candidate have experience in customer service/call center, transportation, and/or supply chain environments. Additionally, a passion for quickly providing solutions and resolving challenges using strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills is essential. Successful candidates will enjoy working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with significant growth opportunity and will thrive on accountability to themselves, their team, carriers/drivers, and work schedules. Key Job Responsibilities * Deliver excellent carrier and driver experience/solutions in a high-volume contact center environment by researching issues, problem-solving, setting appropriate expectations, and working within a transportation network to get trailers/trucks back on track during disruptions * Work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to schedules (start/stop times, breaks, and lunches) * Support workload surges and/or weather-related operations as needed, including significant overtime during high-volume periods * Use internal systems to gather data from multiple sources to support daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting * Provide support to field teams and partners by creating repair requests, monitoring load execution, and ensuring on-time pickup and delivery metrics * Collaborate with cross-functional teams; use analytical skills to drive data-driven decisions and effectively communicate insights to transportation operations teams, shippers, rail partners, carriers, and fleet partners * Provide support to drivers and carriers experiencing over-the-road disruptions Note: Calls may be monitored and recorded for training and compliance purposes. A Day in the Life The Transportation Operations Specialist facilitates the continued flow of the supply chain by communicating critical information to stakeholders and resolving disruptions that may impact customer experience or operational performance. The specialist addresses or escalates concerns arising during the lifecycle of freight as it moves between rail ramps, shipper hubs, fulfillment centers, and over-the-road carriers. Daily responsibilities include researching issues using internal tools and making real-time decisions aligned with standard operating procedures. In this role, the specialist must understand logistics processes, analyze data, identify trends, and drive a strong customer experience without compromising timeliness. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
