Systems Administrator (Mid-Level) Frisco, TX (Hybrid: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote) Contract - 12 Months \| Potential for Conversion Overview We are seeking a mid-level Systems Administrator to support enterprise infrastructure in a fast-paced, live-event-driven environment. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience across Windows Server, VMware, and Microsoft 365, who is looking to grow into advanced engineering responsibilities. MUST HAVE ALL TOP SKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED * * Key Responsibilities * Maintain and support on-premises server infrastructure and data center systems * Administer VMware environments (VM provisioning, snapshots, storage management, troubleshooting) * Manage Microsoft 365 (mailboxes, licensing, user access) * Administer Active Directory, including users, groups, and Group Policy * Monitor and support backup systems, including executing restore requests * Perform OS and application patching within maintenance windows following change management processes * Troubleshoot system alerts and incidents within defined support scope * Support escalations from the helpdesk and collaborate with next level engineers * Follow ITIL-based change management and documentation practices * Participate in on-call rotation, including occasional evenings/weekend support Required Qualifications * 3-5 years of overall IT experience * 2-3+ years of hands-on systems administration experience * Strong experience with Windows Server administration in on-prem environments * Experience with VMware (VM lifecycle management, snapshots, storage, reboots) * Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and Active Directory * Experience with patch management and change control processes * Familiarity with backup and recovery operations * Ability to work independently and escalate issues appropriately Preferred Qualifications * Experience with PowerShell scripting * Exposure to Cohesity or similar backup platforms * Knowledge of Entra ID, Conditional Access, and MFA * Understanding of ITIL processes * Certifications such as CompTIA Network+ What Sets This Role Apart * Unique opportunity to support a high-profile sports & entertainment environment tied to live events * Strong career growth pathway into next level administration or engineering roles * Exposure to both on-prem and cloud technologies * Collaborative, team-oriented environment with mentorship from higher level engineers Work Environment * Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite in Frisco, TX * Fast-paced environment with evolving priorities driven by live events * Structured team with defined escalation paths * On-call rotation required Why This Role Is Open * Growth in enterprise technology operations * Increased infrastructure demands from live events * Need for a dedicated mid-level administrator to support daily operations and free up next level engineering resources Ideal Candidate Profile * Strong problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, operational environment * Comfortable handling multiple priorities and working within structured processes * Effective communicator able to collaborate across teams * Motivated to grow into more advanced engineering roles Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Dallas, TX.
