Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively looking for qualified candidates for a full-time Facility Attendant. Under the general guidance of the designated supervisor, this position may supervise and support park activities at outdoor parks, recreational sports, assist front desk operations, and childcare services for drop-in users; collect fees; provide information on programs and register participants; set up and take down tables, chairs, and other equipment for indoor and outdoor programs and events; ensure cleanliness and notify management of required repairs; conduct daily safety inspections; provide substitute coverage for summer camps or preschool programs as needed; and maintain vehicle records, along with related activities at assigned school sites, facility rentals, classroom setup, maintenance of dry and wet/pool areas, and operations involving climbing walls and gymnasiums at assigned Centers or designated County facilities.

As a Facility Attendant, you will represent the front line of our customer service standards, special events, building operations, and programming. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, work collaboratively with others, and demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
* Sterling Community Center, Sterling, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Oversee drop-in users and renters, provide customer service in multiple areas, and enforce facility rules and regulations.
* Maintain facilities by monitoring building and grounds conditions, safety, and cleanliness; document daily facility checks; process work orders; procure supplies; and report issues to management.
* Assist customers with class registrations, payments, room scheduling, and camp registrations.
* Provide oversight of fitness areas and related operations, including climbing wall activities.
* Issue and maintain records for facility keys and access cards.
* Procure custodial and retail maintenance supplies as needed.
* Maintain vehicles in safe and operational condition, including completing pre-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle records and daily logs, planning routes and schedules, and ensuring all safety equipment is operational.
* Set up and operate large inflatables (bounce houses) and facilitate birthday party packages.
* May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

Salary commensurate with experience.


Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age; High school diploma or equivalent; depending on assignment; six (6) months experience supervising children during recreational or educational activities may be required. Valid driver's license required.

Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience working outdoors, in sports, and in recreational settings.
* Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.


Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record. Pass TB test within 30 days of hire and each year thereafter. Must annually complete a sworn disclosure statement or affirmation disclosing any criminal convictions or pending criminal charges. First Aid/CPR certifications prior to hire or immediately upon hire. Have or take OSHA (Bloodborne pathogens) training within 30 days of hire;
