What you'll do and what you'll bring:

Position Description:

The Cafeteria Aide supports the daily operation of the school meal program by preparing and serving meals, maintaining a safe and clean cafeteria environment, supervising students during meal periods, and ensuring accurate meal accountability.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the cafeteria, serving line, and food items prior to meal service while following established food safety, sanitation, and serving procedures.
  • Serve meals to students, maintain a clean and organized dining environment, and assist with student supervision during meal periods.
  • Accurately document meals served, track unpaid meals for reimbursement purposes, and maintain strict confidentiality regarding student free and reduced meal eligibility status.
  • Clean and sanitize food service areas and equipment following meal service and assist with preparing meals for field trips and special events.
  • Monitor inventory, communicate supply needs to the meal vendor representative, and support the daily operation of the school meal program.
  • Follow all school policies and procedures and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and families.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting associated with food service operations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices preferred.
