Summary
The Marine Assembly Technician is responsible for the assembly, inspection, testing, and completion of small, medium, and large mechanical and electromechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and quality requirements. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity, teamwork, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with company policies and customer requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are:
* Read, interpret, and follow engineering drawings, blueprints, bills of material, specifications, and work instructions.
* Assemble complex mechanical and electromechanical products according to established procedures and quality standards.
* Perform fitting, alignment, fastening, adjustment, and final assembly operations.
* Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
* Maintain product traceability and accurate documentation.
* Perform deburring, cleaning, painting, marking, labeling, and finishing operations.
* Safely move and position materials, components, and assemblies.
* Operate forklifts and material handling equipment following required training and certification.
* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment utilizing 5S principles.
* Complete production paperwork, inspection reports, and quality records.
* Utilize Microsoft Excel and company software systems as required.
* Work effectively within a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
* Adapt to changing priorities and assignments as business needs require.
* Travel as required with as little as eight (8) hours' notice.
* Must be willing and capable of receiving a secret clearance.
* May be asked to perform other duties as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Must be flexible and willing to work with a moving schedule. Must have patience to work with small micro sized parts. Should have a good aptitude to work with electronics and electronic test equipment. Must be able to provide basic problem-solving skills.

* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly processes.
* Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, and inspection instruments.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Education and/or Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent
* One to three months' experience and/or training in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience
* Must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to perform precise mathematical calculations-including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic trigonometry-for dimensional analysis and GD&T, ensuring accuracy in assembly operations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply practical reasoning to follow instructions provided in written, verbal, or diagram form, and to resolve problems involving multiple variables within standardized processes.

* Ability to climb a ladder, & function on elevated platforms and work in tight spaces.
* Stand and walk for extended periods.
* Bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as necessary.
* Lift and move materials up to 50 pounds independently and heavier loads with assistance or lifting devices.
* Operate tools, equipment, forklifts, and machinery safely.
