Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Campus Stores Manager, this position is responsible for the daily operation of the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) storeroom, and MRO Receiving. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing customer service, purchasing/reordering stock, inventory management, merchandising, shipping/receiving, and checking in materials within a university environment. Responsible for training, supervision of store personnel, and providing a wide assortment of goods and services to the campus community.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Required to hold a valid California driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • Bachelors Degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Experience with fiscal inventory, principles, and practices. Including knowledge of warehouse receiving, safety practices, retail sales, terminology, cost, margins, mark-up/mark-downs, payment, and freight terms.
  • Supervisory and leadership experience to recruit, train, delegate, motivate, evaluate, resolve problems, manage conflicts and administer corrective action.
  • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills to recruit, train, delegate, motivate, evaluate, resolve problems, manage conflict and administer corrective action.
  • Knowledge base and familiarity with MRO, hardware supplies, and hazardous materials.
  • Technical knowledge of and skill to operate and maintain computerized database systems (i.e., inventory software, Microsoft Office Suite, mobile handheld technology, etc.).
  • Skills to operate warehouse equipment, i.e., pallet jacks, hand trucks, forklifts, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive customer service, problem resolution skills, and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing in a retail environment. Experience and management of operations utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Inventory software.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, guidelines, and UC policies and procedures for shipping and receiving, and other warehousing-related activities.

Supply Chain Management: Logistics is a multifaceted organization with five separate locations that provide services to the Davis and Sacramento Health campus communities. The portfolio consists of Aggie Surplus, Mail Services, Central Receiving, SCM Stores, Microscope Services, and various programs.

Department Specific Job Scope

The unit's funding model is 100% self-supporting, and it is comprised of the SCM Stores locations. Management of the MRO storeroom's daily operations. Including but not limited to overseeing shipping, receiving, purchasing/reordering, inventory management, and customer service.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
