About FlightSafety International FlightSafety International is the world's premier professional aviation training company and supplier of flight simulators, visual systems and displays to commercial, government and military organizations. The company provides training for pilots, technicians and other aviation professionals from 167 countries and independent territories. FlightSafety operates the world's largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom. Position Overview FlightSafety Defense Corporation is gearing to become a recognized integration partner and solution provider for the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy in the Joint Simulation Environment (JSE) and Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) ecosystem. The JSE Mission Modeler is a key contributor within the JSE/SCARS line of efforts, responsible for designing, building, and executing military mission scenarios that support large-force virtual training and mission rehearsal within the JSE Technical Baseline (JTB). This role directly supports FSI Defense's pursuit of modular and scalable simulation architectures capable of supporting 100+ player exercises within a shared synthetic battlespace. The right candidate brings hands-on experience with military scenario authoring, constructive simulation frameworks, and the operational knowledge needed to produce tactically credible training events across multiple classification levels and platform types. Key Responsibilities The JSE Mission Modeler designs and develops mission scenarios for large-force virtual training exercises within the JSE synthetic battlespace. This includes building scenario content that integrates blue air, red air, constructive forces, and environmental conditions using JSE-compatible tools, behavior scripts, and constructive simulation frameworks. The Mission Modeler authors and maintains scenario behavior files, Lua-based launching scripts, mission planning configurations, and scenario control logic in accordance with JSE Platform Package (JPP) standards. The role requires close coordination with JSE GRID services - including entity state management, sensor services, weapon interactions, and line-of-sight services - to produce high-fidelity, repeatable training events. The JSE Mission Modeler works with Government program offices, aircrew subject matter experts (SMEs), and simulation engineers to translate operational training requirements into executable synthetic environment scenarios. This includes supporting scenario validation events at JSE facilities, participating in test events at government sites such as JITTC-E (Elmendorf AFB), NAWDC (Fallon NAS), and Digital Test and Training Range (DTTR) locations, and supporting debrief analysis. The role supports the development and maintenance of scenario libraries across multiple mission profiles, platform types, and force ratios, with particular attention to scalability for multi-site training environments and secure multi-level security (MLS) operations across networks. The Mission Modeler also contributes to scenario documentation, supports Requirements Verification Report (RVR) activities, and maintains traceability between scenario design artifacts and applicable JSE and SCARS standards. Travel to Government test events, contractor facilities, and operational training sites is anticipated throughout the year. Required Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications
Why This Role The JSE Mission Modeler sits at the intersection of operational military knowledge and advanced simulation engineering - a combination that is rare and highly valued in the JSE ecosystem. This individual will directly shape the quality and tactical fidelity of training scenarios that FSI Defense delivers as part of the DIU All Players initiative and future JSE-connected programs. As FSI Defense establishes itself as a recognized integration partner for the USAF and Navy, the Mission Modeler will have early visibility into some of the most strategically significant training system programs in the Department of Defense.
