Job Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Boulder CO
Employment Type: Temp to Hire
Industry: Semiconductor Manufacturing / Semiconductor Design
Compensation: $22-$28/hr. (This position may be filled at different experience levels based on qualifications, responsibilities, independence, and leadership expectations. Pay will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.)
Schedule: First Shift
About the Opportunity:
The Inspector performs visual, mechanical, dimensional, and quality inspections of semiconductor components, assemblies, and materials to ensure compliance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and manufacturing procedures. This position supports incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities while working closely with production and quality teams to ensure product reliability and customer satisfaction. The level of responsibility, complexity of assignments, and opportunities to mentor others will be based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform visual, dimensional, mechanical, and functional inspections of semiconductor components, assemblies, and materials.
  • Conduct incoming, in-process, and final product inspections.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Utilize inspection equipment including microscopes, calipers, gauges, precision measuring devices, and other test instruments.
  • Verify product documentation, labeling, lot traceability, and manufacturing records.
  • Record inspection results in quality systems and production documentation.
  • Identify, document, and report nonconforming materials or products, escalating issues as appropriate.
  • Support quality investigations, corrective actions, root cause analysis, and failure analysis activities as experience allows.
  • Maintain compliance with ESD procedures, safety requirements, and company quality systems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Experienced inspectors may assist with training and mentoring less experienced team members.

Job Requirements
What You'll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-7 years of quality inspection experience in semiconductor, electronics, microelectronics, or high-tech manufacturing.
What Sets You Apart:
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection documentation appropriate to experience level.
  • Experience using microscopes, precision measuring equipment, gauges, calipers, and related inspection tools.
  • Basic computer skills and experience entering inspection data into quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to quality.
  • Experience in semiconductor wafer fabrication, assembly, packaging, or test manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ESD handling procedures.
  • Experience with failure analysis, defect classification, or corrective action processes.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and industry standards such as ISO 9001, IPC, or similar.
