Position Highlights

The School of Health Professions was established as part of the Zuckerman College of Public Health. With a focus on health professions and health science design, the school is committed to training students and developing a workforce of health professionals to serve the needs of Arizona's communities. The Physician Assistant Program is seeking a basic science instructor to participate in the program as an on-call instructor. The successful individual hired for this position will teach physiology content in the Foundation of Medicine course series and support the course co-director and other course assigned faculty. The position is PRN and hours and days work will vary.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Deliver physiology lectures synchronously/asynchronously for Foundations in Medicine course series.
  • Contribute to current course materials and build course materials for future courses in the series.
  • Collaborate with co-director of Foundations in Medicine and other assigned faculty members to assure continuity of course delivery.
  • Mentor PA faculty member assigned to teaching physiology content.
  • Advise and mentor students in course content, as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Instructional delivery and curriculum development skills.
  • Ability to provide student advisement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field; or
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and ten (10) years of progressively responsible professional experience directly related to the position.
