Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This role supports the Planning department through the preparation and distribution of shipping documents for products as required by customer POs and specifications. This position maintains all part specific documents associated with products in process of manufacturing, outside processing, and testing. This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with U.S. export regulations by preparing and maintaining documentation for export shipments of ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) and EAR (Export Administration Regulations) controlled goods. This role also assists in filing Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping Technician

  • Prepare and process domestic and international shipping documents.
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations (ITAR/EAR), customer requirements, and company policies.
  • Review shipping documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Maintain shipping, WIP, testing, and export-related records.
  • Process receiving transactions for finished goods and outside processing services.
  • Verify shipment contents and associated documentation.
  • Package, label, mark, and identify parts in accordance with work instructions and customer requirements.
  • Pull, store, stage, test, and ship materials as required.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups, expedited shipments, and vendor shipments.
  • Perform shipping document audits and review freight forwarder documentation for accuracy.
  • Support continuous improvement, corrective actions, and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain an organized, safe shipping and warehouse environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Export Compliance Coordinator (ECC)

  • Comply with the PCC Code of Conduct Requirements and Export Compliance Manual/Handbook.
  • Prepare and review export documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
  • File Electronic Export Information (EEI) in the ACE system.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate and timely export documentation.
  • Ensure all required export licenses and authorizations are in place before shipment.
  • Assist with compliance audits and support record-keeping requirements.
  • Work closely with shipping and logistics teams to ensure smooth and compliant export operations.
  • Keep up to date with export regulations and assist in ensuring the company remains compliant with changes in laws.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (e.g., Visibility).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to interpret customer purchase orders, shipping requirements, and work instructions.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory, and logistics processes.
  • Understanding of export compliance regulations (ITAR/EAR), quality requirements, and auditing principles.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Safety Certification.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and policy compliance.
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as business needs require.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support.
  • Experience preparing shipping documentation and coordinating domestic and international shipments.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of U.S. export regulations (ITAR, EAR) is a plus but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to become forklift certified.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in export compliance, logistics, or a related field, preferred.
  • Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, export documentation requirements, and freight forwarding processes.
  • Familiarity with the ACE system and filing EEIs.
  • Basic understanding of export control regulations.
  • Experience with quality management systems, audits, and corrective action processes.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to communicate with co-workers and carriers both written, electronically, and verbally.
