About the Opportunity
The Project Coordinator will be part of the PMO team responsible for designing and delivering value to various internal and external customers across a variety of projects associated with UNC System Office initiatives. The position will be responsible for working closely with key stakeholders to oversee the full project management process of assigned projects, providing analytical and technical leadership, and gathering, clarifying, and documenting tasks and functional requirements as needed. The position is responsible for ensuring a project is well defined and understood by all parties before implementation commences, creating and maintaining project plans, coordinating day-to-day project activities, and communicating regular project status updates.

In addition, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for designing the business processes and functional workflows to accomplish desired requirements most efficiently. The Project Coordinator will work on complex projects including technical projects, technical and operational integrations and other initiatives which support the overall System Office strategic plan. This Project Coordinator will serve as a team member in a resource pool designed to provide expertise in a wide range of skillsets to a variety of internal projects.

This position is a hybrid work arrangement and will work at least three days per week onsite at the Dillon building in downtown Raleigh's Warehouse District. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.

About the UNC System Office

The UNC System Office includes the offices of the President and other senior administrators of the multi-campus University of North Carolina System. The UNC System is a treasured public institution dedicated to serving the people of North Carolina through world-class teaching, research, and community engagement. Today, nearly 250,000 students are enrolled in our 16 universities across the state and at the NC School of Science and Mathematics. System Office staff is responsible for executing the policies of the UNC Board of Governors and providing University-wide leadership in the areas of academic affairs, business and financial management, long-range planning, student affairs, research, legal affairs, and government relations. The UNC System Office also has administrative oversight of a number of University affiliates, including PBS North Carolina, the North Carolina Arboretum, the NC State Education Assistance Authority, and University of North Carolina Press.

About the Team
The Operations Division works collaboratively within the System Office to help ensure efficient and cost-effective integration of new technologies and processes to meet the strategic needs of the North Carolina System Office and the common and unique needs of the 17 institutions. The division includes Information Technology, Human Resources, Advancement and is also charged with managing a highly complex enterprise-wide project portfolio and data integration effort that enables the System to better monitor, evaluate, and manage our enterprise.

The PMO works across the organization to standardize the project management process, support project implementation, provide a consolidated view of all projects, plan and schedule resources efficiently, and support senior leadership and the governance structure to ensure resources are working on the right projects aligned with the strategic vision.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelors and 2-5 years' experience; or will accept a combination of related education and experience in substitution.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills
*Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Information Systems, or related degree from an appropriately
accredited institution and three years of experience in project management or business application analysis,
consulting, or development; or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree
and two years of experience in business applications analysis, consulting, or development; or an equivalent
combination of education and experience.
* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
* Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP) preferred
