As an Electrical/Mechanical Technician on our Reactor & BOP Inspection Tooling team, you will provide field services at nuclear power plant sites either operating or under construction. You will perform service center operations, using high technology service equipment in a manner reflecting Westinghouse's commitment to safety and quality.

You will report to the Manager of Inspection Services Tooling and Maintenance. This position is a full time (5 days per week) on-site opportunity at our Madison, PA (Waltz Mill) facility.

Key Responsibilities:




  • Perform service center support responsibilities including service equipment maintenance and check out, equipment and facility decontamination, equipment packing and unpacking, shipment preparations, material handling and calibration activities. Review operational and maintenance procedures and drawings in detail.
  • Assess equipment specifications and determine tooling instructions, tools and materials needed and sequences of operations.
  • Perform equipment modifications, equipment set up and testing, mock-up preparation, process testing and equipment and process qualifications.
  • Document equipment performance issues during field implementation, and ensure corrective actions are complete before next scheduled use.
  • Participate in performance-based training programs to acquire and maintain certifications and keep current with technology.
  • Participate in safety training to acquire the skills to perform work in hazardous environments and operate safety equipment and systems.
  • Practice Human Performance Tools, INPO Principals, Industrial Health & Safety, and ALARA principals, specific security requirements, and the importance of observing both Westinghouse and customer license requirements. Participation and contribution of observations in the shop. Acquire, comprehend and apply Nuclear Culture Safety requirements.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot field service equipment at customer sites, including cleaning processes, non-destructive examination (NDE) technology, robotic systems and computer networks.
  • Perform all assigned tasks with support, with a high degree of quality, and within the parameters of qualified procedures and guidelines. Document all quality related issues.



Qualifications:



  • Associates degree or the recognized equivalent required
  • 0+ years of experience. Mechanical and/or electronic aptitude skill is preferred
  • Obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant and working with hazardous materials
  • Ability to travel during the spring and fall for potentially months at a time on jobs

    • 12 hour schedule on nights or days when on site assignments
    • 6-7 days per week on site assignment


  • This is a physical position, which requires the ability to

    • Lift 50-60 lbs
    • Ascend and descend ladders
    • Work in an industrial environment when on assignment
    • Work in a radiological environment





We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications, and skills, is estimated to be $49,807.86 to $75,599.84 per year.
