JOB SUMMARY:

The Sr. Commercial Data Operations Manager will be responsible for owning and optimizing the data operations ecosystem by integrating organizational data, ensuring reliable data operations, and managing sensitivedata risks for BioCryst's growing portfolio of products for rare diseases and disorders. This individual must have a keen understanding of key organizational data, structuring disparate data sources, system capabilities, and context of building such an infrastructure in a rare disease company. This role can be remote working in Eastern or Central time zone. #LI-REMOTE

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and execute data operations between BioCryst system and downstream partners, data specifications, and integrations that include, but are not limited to, commercial, medical affairs, and clinical operations.
  • Oversee risk management and data operations of key systems including but not limited to data transmissions (inbound and outbound), analytical and reporting tools, CRMs, Marketing platforms for patient and HCP-facing applications, and material review systems.
  • Act as an internal advisor to various internal functional teams on key initiatives involving data operations and integrations that are used across the organization (Patient Services, Sales, Medical, Clinical, IT, etc.)
  • Establish and maintain a data and risk documentation repository for internal and external data, including BioCryst data, third party data, data transmission, integrations, and data warehouses. Manage Expert Determinations in partnership with Advanced Analytics.
  • Support data operations for implementation of specific system platforms managed by Strategic Data, Insights, and Operations, to ensure data integrations with other key systems are documented, assessed for risk, consistent with business rules & workflows, and are operationalized, including, but not limited to, initial development and launch, system optimization, and on-going system improvements
  • Coordinate and manage data flows between internal sources and external vendors.
  • Collaborate with Commercial departments to size field force territories, create customer target lists and manage rosters. Partner with Commercial Enablement for implementation.
  • Collaborate with medical to size Medical Science Liaison geographies, coverage maps of healthcare professionals, create KOL lists and manage rosters. Partner with Commercial Enablement for implementation.
  • Owns the commercial data ingestion monitoring and documentation processes of inbound and outbound feeds globally.
  • Ensure compliance with US, Japanese Canadian data privacy and security regulations.
  • Partner with the Data Architect to establish and manage predictable data operating models for inbound and outbound data transfers.
  • Partner with Commercial Enablement to align data flows to high-impacts tools, improving execution and insights.
  • Partner with Data Architect to assess, document, and integrate AI/ML tools handed off to Commercial Enablement
  • All other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • 6+ years of relevant commercial experience in biotech/pharma required, 6+ years preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of biopharma commercial data operations and sales data analytics infrastructure.
  • Creative thinker; self-directed; able to develop a plan, gain alignment, and execute.
  • Highly collaborative; flexible and can work easily across functions; comfortable leaning into all aspects of a commercial business and making recommendations to optimize company or team approach.
  • Can build and maintain strong customer and partner relationships.
  • Analytical -- uses data to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Strong ability to drive execution through an organization.
  • Understanding of cloud systems, master data management, and Data warehouse
  • Relevant experience with specialty pharma data preferred.
  • Relevant experience with rare disease states preferred.
