Accounting Specialist

We are looking for a Accounting Specialist to join Endress+Hauser Optical Analysis, the global leader in Raman spectroscopy, tunable diode laser absorption spectroscopy (TDLAS), and quenched fluorescence (QF) instrumentation for laboratory, process, and manufacturing environments. Our laser-based analyzer systems perform high-performance chemical composition and concentration measurement of all phases of matter in any installation environment.

What is the role about?

The Accounting Specialist coordinates daily and monthly accounting activities in a timely environment while ensuring the integrity and accuracy of reporting.

Which essential functions will you perform?

  • Manage A/P follow-up, including vendor reconciliations, inquiries, and month-end support
  • Review and process employee expense reports and company credit card transactions
  • Verify, code, and post vendor invoices through the A/P system (xFlow)
  • Monitor GR/IR report and resolve invoice discrepancies with Procurement/Logistics
  • Perform GL coding and account assignments for non-PO invoices
  • Support period-end close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
  • Ensure proper sales/use tax treatment and calculate monthly use tax accruals
  • Participate in intercompany reconciliations and prepare annual 1099 reporting
  • Execute payments (checks, ACH, wires) and resolve banking issues
  • Maintain vendor master data, support audits, and identify process improvements

What qualifications are needed?

  • Associate degree in Accounting or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience (manufacturing preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred) and proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of U.S. A/P tax requirements (W9, 1099 reporting)
  • Strong accounting foundation with focus on accuracy, prioritization, and timeliness
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accountability
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines under general supervision
  • Effective communicator, able to collaborate across teams and adapt to various systems
