Job Summary

Our Surveyor I (MEP), performs layout of the location(s) of specific, trade-related features. This location may indicate inserts, sleeves, pad corners, or any number of MEP (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) points of interest. This position uses sensitive instrumentation to perform the layout, such as robotic total stations. This opportunity is an entry-level role where significant on-the-job training will occur.


Essential Duties

  • Responsible for setting up, calibrating, and maintaining surveying equipment to ensure accurate measurements and data collection.
  • Control point and field point creation and maintenance
  • Collaborate with VDC and Production teams to efficiently execute layout tasks according to project schedules, ensuring timely completion.
  • Location of MEP features as requested
  • Assist other Surveyors to complete all layout and data collection with the highest level of accuracy
  • Maintain a project database regarding job progress and record and report any potential issues.
  • This role may require travel amongst different TD geographies to perform the duties of the Surveyor I role.
  • May involve installing fixtures, inserts, and other components identified during layout activities to support construction processes.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Trade experience in the MEP Construction Industry is preferred, with a minimum of 1 year being advantageous.
  • High School degree or GED
  • Associates Degree or Vocational Training in related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated proficiency in technology, rapid learning aptitude, and meticulous attention to detail are essential for this position.
  • Requires working knowledge and skills developed through formal training or work experience.
  • Work may be performed outdoors or on a construction project job-site. Subject to extreme heat and cold, loud noise, vibrations and dust.
  • Must have the ability to work skillfully with both hands,
  • Will frequently move about the job-site and may require you to ascend and descend ladders and scaffolds and/or frequently move equipment and materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
