Fire Systems Inspection Manager
COSCO Fire Protection is a multifaceted, full-service fire sprinkler and life safety systems company specializing in the installation, service, and inspection of a wide variety of automatic fire sprinkler systems, fire alarm (life safety) systems, kitchen suppression, extinguishers, and special hazard systems throughout the West Coast. COSCO Fire Protection is currently expanding our inspection and service operations throughout all our district locations and offers tremendous opportunities to experienced, service-driven professionals with strong operational and sales acumen in the fire protection and life safety marketplace.

The Fire Systems Inspection Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all inspection activities related to fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and life safety systems, while also supporting revenue growth through new sales, customer retention, contract renewals, and identification of inspection- and deficiency-driven sales opportunities. This position ensures inspections are performed in compliance with applicable codes, company standards, and customer requirements while maintaining operational efficiency, profitability, and high levels of customer satisfaction.

The Inspection Manager must be experienced in the following within fire protection and life safety systems:
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Inspection Department.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate inspection activities, manpower, and resources across assigned territories.
  • Ensure all inspections are conducted in accordance with NFPA standards (including but not limited to NFPA 25 and NFPA 72), local AHJ requirements, and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce inspection procedures, quality standards, and safety practices.
  • Monitor departmental performance to ensure productivity, profitability, and operational goals are met.
  • Review inspection reports for accuracy, completeness, and compliance prior to submission to customers and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
  • Work closely with Service and Sales teams to identify deficiencies, inspection renewals, and repair opportunities, ensuring a smooth transition from inspection findings to quoted corrective work.
  • Support sales activities related to inspection contracts, new customers, renewals, upselling of testing and inspection services, and life safety compliance solutions.
  • Assist in the development and execution of inspection-related sales strategies in alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Observe competitive activities in the areas of inspection pricing, contract terms, and customer service to maintain COSCO Fire Protection's competitive and profitable position.
  • Participate in customer meetings, proposal reviews, and presentations as needed to support inspection sales efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships by anticipating needs, resolving concerns, and providing technical and code-related guidance.
  • Ensure all inspection proposals, contracts, and billing documentation are processed accurately and submitted on a timely basis.
  • Lead, train, mentor, and evaluate inspection personnel to promote professional growth, accountability, and a customer-focused mindset.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Five or more years of experience in fire protection and life safety systems, preferably in inspection and/or service operations.
  • Demonstrated sales experience or strong sales aptitude within the fire protection, life safety, or related construction/service industries.
  • Proven ability to support revenue growth through contract renewals, customer retention, and identification of service and repair opportunities.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes and standards as they apply to fire sprinkler, fire alarm, and life safety systems.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present inspection findings and solutions to customers effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage teams and territories with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service mentality combined with a results-driven, sales-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must successfully complete an employment background investigation and drug screening.
Applicants must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of balancing operational leadership with customer-facing sales responsibilities. Compensation for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience and may include performance-based incentives tied to inspection growth, renewals, and service conversions. A company vehicle or monthly car allowance may be provided based on role requirements.
