Director, Cloud Infrastructure | Aspect

Location: Remote / Hybrid (HQ: Denver, CO)
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

We are seeking a Director of Cloud Infrastructure to lead the evolution of our global cloud platform and operational capabilities. This leader will play a critical role in scaling infrastructure, improving reliability, enabling engineering velocity, and modernizing enterprise operations to support our next generation of AI-powered products and services.

The Role

As the Director of Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead the teams responsible for Cloud Operations, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Platform Engineering, and core Infrastructure Services. You will partner closely with Engineering, Security, Product, and Architecture teams to ensure our infrastructure is resilient, secure, scalable, and optimized for rapid innovation.

You will help shape the future of infrastructure at Aspect by driving automation, operational excellence, and a developer-first platform strategy that empowers engineering teams to deploy and operate services efficiently at scale.

Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Strategy
  • Define and execute the roadmap for Aspect's cloud infrastructure modernization, including migration from legacy environments to scalable,cloud-native architectures.
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and standardized engineering practices across infrastructure teams.
  • Partner with executive leadership to align infrastructure investments with business and product objectives.
Reliability & Operational Excellence
  • Own the availability, scalability, and operational health of Aspect's enterprise platforms and services.
  • Lead initiatives focused on observability, resiliency, disaster recovery, incident response, and automated failover capabilities.
  • Establish and monitor SLAs, SLOs, and operational metrics to improve platform reliability and customer experience.
Platform Engineering & Developer Enablement
  • Build and enhance internal platform capabilities that improve developer productivity and deployment velocity.
  • Champion self-service infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and cloud-native operational tooling.
  • Improve observability and operational transparency across distributed systems and services.
Security, Compliance & Governance
  • Partner closely with Security and Compliance teams to support SOC2, GDPR, and enterprise security requirements.
  • Drive infrastructure security best practices, including identity management, vulnerability remediation, patch management, and Zero Trust initiatives.
  • Ensure governance, operational controls, and compliance standards are consistently implemented across cloud environments.
Cloud Operations & FinOps
  • Manage cloud infrastructure budgets and optimization initiatives across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
  • Drive operational efficiency and cost optimization while maintaining performance and scalability requirements.
  • Establish visibility and accountability around cloud consumption and infrastructure utilization.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and grow high-performing infrastructure and platform engineering teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and blameless incident management.
  • Recruit and retain top engineering talent while developing future technical leaders within the organization.
Who You Are Experienced Infrastructure Leader
  • You have experience leading cloud infrastructure, SRE, or platform engineering teams within enterprise SaaS or high-scale technology organizations.
  • You have managed complex distributed systems supporting large-scale, mission-critical applications.
Technically Strong
  • You are comfortable leading deep technical discussions around Kubernetes, distributed systems, cloud networking, automation, and modern infrastructure architectures.
  • You understand how infrastructure strategy directly impacts engineering velocity, customer experience, and business outcomes.
Automation-Focused
  • You are passionate about automation, operational efficiency, and reducing manual overhead through tooling and engineering best practices.
  • You believe scalable systems require repeatable, observable, and automated operational processes.
Collaborative & Strategic
  • You can balance innovation with operational stability and enterprise-scale reliability.
  • You are an effective cross-functional partner who communicates clearly with both technical and executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud operations, SRE, or platform engineering roles.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams and technical managers.
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud-native technologies, and CI/CD ecosystems.
  • Experience operating in multi-cloud environments including AWS, Azure, and/or GCP.
  • Familiarity with observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience supporting compliance and security frameworks in enterprise SaaS environments.
