Location On-site - Franklin Township, NJ (08873) Travel within local area (1-2 zip codes) Job Title Alarm Technician / Security Installation Technician Overview Looking for a hands-on, reliable technician to install and service residential alarm and security systems. This is an entry-to-intermediate opportunity with full training provided - ideal for candidates who enjoy working with their hands, interacting with customers, and solving problems in the field. Key Responsibilities * Install and program: * Burglar alarm systems * CCTV (IP & analog cameras) * DVRs and access control systems * Install: * Door/window sensors * Glass break detectors * Smoke detectors * Troubleshoot signal and equipment issues * Test and verify system functionality * Educate customers on system usage * Complete job documentation and cost tracking * Maintain vehicle inventory of tools and equipment * Deliver excellent customer service during in-home visits Must-Have Qualifications * Experience with: * Alarm systems (Command, Safewatch preferred) * CCTV / camera systems * Low-voltage cabling * Strong work ethic and reliability (consistent attendance is critical) * Good communication and customer service skills * Professional appearance and demeanor * Valid driver's license & reliable personal vehicle Nice-to-Have Skills * Cat5 / Cat6 cabling * Honeywell systems * IP camera installation * Troubleshooting experience * General construction or field service background Tools & Requirements Candidates must provide their own: * 6-ft ladder (compact preferred, e.g., Little Giant) * Drill, screwdrivers, wire cutters * Sheetrock saw * Vehicle for daily travel Work Details * Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday * Training: ~3-4 weeks (plus licensing support) * Work Environment: 2-5 residential jobs per day * Mileage reimbursement: * Up to $100/week gas * IRS rate for mileage over 300 miles/week Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Somerset, NJ.
