Job Summary The Student Service Analyst provides leadership and program coordination for the Academic Advising and Career Services department. Acts a content expert in academic advisement and student support for students pursuing a Bachelor degree. Works collaboratively with program faculty, Field of Interest advisors, and Student Affairs administrators. The position engages in proactive case management, is responsible for monitoring student progress and completion, and coordinates student resources & referrals as needed. This position may lead a Field of Interest or other assigned cohort team and monitor team performance, duties, and/or schedules as well as perform problem resolution and program management and evaluation. Essential Functions 45% - Provides professional-level end-to-end Academic Advising to an assigned caseload of students seeking a Bachelor's Degree. Tasked with supporting student learning, persistence, and degree completion and tracking student program data to provide proactive academic advising to assigned caseload of students. Provides 1:1 and group academic advising sessions focused on onboarding and retention strategies for both new-to-college and students transferring to CGC with prior credit. Acts as the primary liaison and academic advising lead for bachelor degree students, connecting them with academic and personal resources like tutoring, financial aid, and career services. Tracks and reports cohort data on degree progress and completion. Informs and recommends program improvements, course scheduling changes, student engagement opportunities, and works closely with program faculty and student affairs leadership. 25% Case manages assigned cohort and works collaboratively with Fields of Interests Advising leads to ensure advising quality assurance, training, support. Serves as a department lead by directing the daily activities of non-exempt staff and providing work direction for the team to meet department deadlines and program management. Problem-solves complex student concerns and provides technical assistance and troubleshooting to front-line staff if problem-escalation occurs. Acts as an academic advising content expert in the areas of career and educational planning, curricular and degree requirements needed for graduation, and student success, retention, and persistence strategies. 20% Develops, maintains, and delivers group presentations, trainings, and workshops. Coordinates, implements, and evaluates program advising processes and procedures. Makes recommendations for program improvements using evidence-based assessments and strategies. Assists with the development and delivery of training and professional development to the college community on topics related to student on-boarding, advising, and retention. 10% Evaluates and interprets regulations, policies, & guidelines to determine and ensure compliance. Participates and collaborates on Field of Interest events and initiatives. Provides program management and coordination which may include operational planning or assessment. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience, or experience coordinating, administering, planning, or evaluating programs. OR An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation. Desired Qualifications 1. A Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution. 2. One (1) or more years of experience providing professional-level academic advisement in a college or university setting. 3. One (1) or more years of experience accessing, entering, and maintaining student data from a student information system such as Banner, Peoplesoft, or Degree Works. 4. Effective written communications skills (as evidenced by application materials) & experience developing and delivering group presentations, trainings, or workshops. 5. Experience implementing student success strategies to increase persistence, retention, & completion rates of post-secondary education students. 6. Bilingual in Spanish and able to show proficiency. 7. One year of relevant full-time MCCCD experience during the previous two years. **** Experience within other community college systems or higher education institutions is valued and may be considered in addition to MCCCD experience.
