DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision, and in addition to performing the full range of operational level duties, responsible for administering licensed social service programs or relevant work. Provides licensed social work services consisting of discharge planning, continuing care services, and clinical social work services, including crisis intervention, mandated reporting, information and referral, and coordination of health and mental health services with community providers.

The Clinical Social Worker is responsible for working in the Emergency Department - outpatient setting - Providing clinical support to the patient population with individual and support system interventions, resource education and access, homeless patient poly substance abuse/dependence, complex care management, grief, end of life, change in functioning levels, discharge planning, crisis intervention, safety planning, and care management planning. Weekends, holidays, and covering for vacations & sick time Performs all other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work (MSW) and possession of the requirements necessary for application for licensure as a clinical social worker as determined by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners.

  • At least two (2) years of post-MSW experience. To be considered for the Clinical Social Worker III, the candidate must have at least three (3) years of post-MSW experience and be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.

  • Must have proven independent thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and prioritizing skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

  • Hospital setting and behavioral health experience.

  • Emergency department experience.

  • 2+ years working with varied levels of population.

  • 1 year of hospital or residential experience.

  • Medical Social Work experience with high levels of social determinants of care (homeless), polysubstance/dependence patient population.

  • Experience with crisis intervention.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

  • 12hour shifts 1130 to Midnight - days will vary, maybe set days, it will depend on the schedule. Can be a 1.0 or .90 depends on the candidate - 6, 12hour shifts plus an 8hour shift per pay period for the 1.0 - exempt career.

  • Depending on the experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at a Clinical Social Worker II or Clinical Social Worker III level. The pay scale for the CSWII (2+ years post-MSW experience) is $44.57-$58.73/hour. The pay scale for the CSWIII (with California LCSW) is $50.01-$65.88/hour.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $93,062 - $122,628 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $44.57 - $58.73

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
