Job Summary
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for supporting engineering change management, mechanical design updates, verification activities, and manufacturing support within a regulated environment. This role involves executing Change Controls (MOCs), performing CAD design modifications using SolidWorks, supporting test system development, and ensuring compliance with Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The position requires strong collaboration with Operations, Quality, Engineers, and Technicians to troubleshoot issues, implement corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Mechanical Engineer will also manage technical documentation, perform tolerance and statistical analyses, and provide technical guidance to support manufacturing and engineering operations.

Job Responsibilities




  • Manage and execute Change Controls (MOCs) from initiation through final closeout using MasterControl.



  • Create and revise CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks for continuous improvement projects.



  • Support design updates for machined metal, plastic, and sheet metal components.



  • Develop, execute, and document verification plans, protocols, and final reports.



  • Route and maintain supporting documentation within MasterControl in accordance with SOPs and traceability requirements.



  • Perform part measurements, statistical analyses, and tolerance assessments, including assembly stack-up evaluations.



  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting issues, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.



  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams to determine and execute appropriate corrective measures.



  • Assist with the design, assembly, and support of mechanical enclosures and test system components.



  • Read and interpret schematics and engineering drawings to support fixture specification, sourcing, and assembly.



  • Troubleshoot mechanical and test system issues to improve reliability and performance.



  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, quality, and safety standards.



  • Collaborate with Engineers and Technicians to coordinate project activities and timelines.



  • Maintain accurate engineering and manufacturing records in compliance with GDP and GMP standards.



  • Provide technical support and guidance to cross-functional team members.



  • Follow all workplace safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.



  • Estimate labor and material requirements for mechanical projects and repair activities.




Job Requirements




  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for CAD modeling and engineering drawing updates.



  • Experience managing engineering change controls and documentation within MasterControl or similar systems.



  • Strong understanding of mechanical components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.



  • Ability to perform measurements, statistical analysis, and tolerance stack-up evaluations independently.



  • Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics and technical drawings.



  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical systems and implementing corrective actions.



  • Knowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).



  • Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.



  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.



  • Familiarity with Windows-based test systems preferred.



  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) experience preferred.



  • Project management experience supporting short- to mid-range timelines preferred.



  • Ability to comply with all applicable safety and regulatory requirements.




Education




  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.




Work Experience




  • Previous experience in mechanical engineering, manufacturing support, product development, or regulated industrial environments preferred.



  • Experience supporting engineering documentation, change control processes, and verification activities preferred.
