Mechanical Assembler
Smyrna, GA
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Position Overview

The Mechanical Assembleris responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing panelboards and switchboards according to customer specifications. This role involves using hand and power tools, performing quality inspections, and ensuring that products meet established standards. The position requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to follow detailed instructions within a fast-paced production environment.

Job Responsibilities



  • Assemble panelboards and switchboards using electrical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform wiring assembly using hand and power tools, such as wire strippers and pliers.
  • Inspect and test finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Maintain progress of jobs and communicate issues such as part shortages or quality concerns.
  • Receive, organize, and put away materials; prepare finished products for shipment.
  • Contribute to Lean initiatives by recommending improvements in quality, work processes, and safety.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas according to 5S guidelines.
  • Cross-train and flex across functions as needed for development and business requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of one year of assembly experience using hand and/or power tools. Automotive, construction, carpentry, or mechanic experience is acceptable.
  • Ability to work overtime before and after shifts, as well as on weekends.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of the work location (exceptions for active-duty military candidates).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team-oriented production environment.


Education



  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


Work Experience



  • Minimum 1 year mechanical or assembly experience required. Experience as a mechanic is acceptable.
